No Compassion for Complicity:
❌ No Compassion for Complicity: Why ISIS Returnees Must Be Rejected
In September 2025, two women and four children who lived under the Islamic State quietly returned to Australia. They smuggled themselves out of Syria, passed through Lebanon, and were issued Australian passports1 2. The government insists it did not assist their return—but it knew about it months in advance3.
This is not a humanitarian story. It’s a national failure of moral clarity.
🔥 ISIS: A Legacy of Hatred and Horror
ISIS was not a rogue militia—it was a death cult. Its ideology was built on hatred for infidels, glorification of martyrdom, and the systematic destruction of Western values. Between 2014 and 2017, ISIS orchestrated or inspired hundreds of terrorist attacks globally, including:
The 2015 Paris attacks (130 dead)
The 2016 Brussels bombings (32 dead)
The 2016 Berlin Christmas market attack (13 dead)
The genocide of Yazidis, including mass executions and sexual slavery 4 5 6
These were not isolated incidents. They were policy.
🧨 Citizenship Without Consequence
The women who joined ISIS weren’t swept up in romance—they were swept up in hate. They aligned themselves with a regime that burned prisoners alive, trained children to kill, and enslaved minorities. Now they’re back, with children raised in that same ideological furnace.
Under Australian law, it is an offence to enter or remain in a “declared area” without legitimate reason, punishable by up to 10 years in prison7. Yet no charges have been laid. No exclusion orders were issued. And the government refuses to disclose where these returnees now live 3 8.
🧒 Children of Hate Are Not Innocent by Default
Yes, children deserve protection. But they were raised in camps where martyrdom was glorified and infidels were vilified. Compassion without caution is negligence. Reintegration must be trauma-informed, transparent, and community-safe.
🏛️ What’s Wrong With Our Government?
No transparency: The public wasn’t informed. Communities weren’t consulted1 3.
No accountability: Returnees face no visible legal consequences3.
No safeguards: Their locations and oversight mechanisms remain undisclosed8.
No moral clarity: The government treats this as logistics, not a national security crisis9.
🗣️ A Call for Moral Backbone
Australia must draw a line. Not just legally—but ethically.
We demand:
Immediate public disclosure of all ISIS-linked returnees.
Mandatory prosecution for anyone who supported or joined a terrorist organisation.
Intensive de-radicalisation programs for children—funded, monitored, and transparent.
A national debate on citizenship, loyalty, and the limits of forgiveness.
Final Word
There is no compassion for complicity. No redemption without reckoning. And no future for a nation that welcomes back those who cheered its destruction.
